Her talk was entitled Does Government Surveillance Give Twitter the Chills? Brandimarte’s research focuses on the areas of privacy, user behaviors, and how privacy decisions are made.  Her talk asked the specific question of whether information learned from Edward Snowden’s revelations about NSA surveillance caused a change in users’ decisions related to information sharing on Twitter.  The results of her research can be seen in her presentation below.

Brandimarte is currently faculty at the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management. She earned her PhD in Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University. She is also a graduate of the University of Rome, Sapienza, where she did her undergraduate studies and the London School of Economics where she earned her Master of Science in Economics.
